The Secretariat Meeting Minutes August 19th, 2026 Call to Order and Prayer: Meeting called to order 6:36pm. The opening prayer was given by Sarah Odoms. Members in Attendance: President Angie Meyer, Secretary Jill Thomas, 4th Day Sarah Odoms, Women's Leader Valerie Phelps, Vice President Jennifer Krehbiel, Communications Jean Hershey via Google Meet Members not Present: Spiritual Director Ron Hershey, Men's Leader Brandon Thomas, Treasurer Jimmy Looney Guests: Garry Phelps and Maria Ferrara via Google Meet Spiritual Directors Message: Not Present Minutes from April Meeting: A proxy vote was made via text on July 29th, 2026 to read and accept the July Meeting Minutes. Jennifer made the motion to accept the Minutes, Jean 2nd, the motion carried Treasurer’s Report: Not Present The question was asked if a Thank You card had gone out to the McCreedy Foundation. Jill will contact Jim/Kim to ask. Communication Report: Jean has updated the 2027 Team/Sponsorship Applications, she has updated the website, she has updated the Team Service List. She has also got the Newsletter out. Fourth Day Report: The Secuela will be in Caldwell on Sunday August 23rd. The next Secuelas are set for September 27th, October 25th and December 6th. All at the Payette Nazarene Church. Women’s Leader Report: Valerie met with Larry and Maria and gave them Rector/Rectoranotebooks that were well received. Maria is prepared and working within the essentials as well as helping Larry along. Men’s Leader Report: Not Present Rectora/Rector: Maria and Jennifer are working together. Maria has her verse and theme. Upcoming Openings on theSecratariat: The 4th day and Womans Leader positions will be coming open in February. Other Business: ● We spoke of how to help our community learn more of the essentials. ● There was discussion on how important sponsorship is, and getting more of the community involved in Secuelas and Reunion groups. ● There was talk of including a “ways to get involved” letter in the 4th day packet ● TDI will be putting out a template on making an emergency plan should there be an emergency during a Weekend ● On the agenda for the next secretariat meeting is creating an itemized weekend budget Prayer and Closing: Garry closed the meeting in prayer at 7:52pm. The next meeting will be September 23rd at 6:30 at the WCC

Everyone that attends a Tres Dias Weekend can probably think of a few people they would love to share the experience with. That is the heart of Tres Dias Weekends... Sponsoring a Candidate to the next weekend. Sponsorship is a vital part of the Tres Dias movement, if the community is to grow spiritually and numerically. The only way a person may become a candidate is to be sponsored by someone that has already attended a Tres Dias weekend. Sponsorship is a serious responsibility, the sponsor should seek God’s will and guidance through prayer as to whom to sponsor and be sensitive in approaching a potential candidate. The Sponsor should recognize that a long-term commitment is being made to the Candidate by sending the Candidate to a Tres Dias weekend. The weekend will not produce a permanent effect without Fourth Day involvement, and therefore, the sponsor should ‘sponsor’ the prospective candidate through all phases of the Tres Dias movement, rather than just the weekend. The Sponsor should help the new Pescador to live the 4th Day as it is presented on the weekend, by encouraging the new Pescador to be an active and contributing member of a church body, by encouraging him/her to join or form a Reunion Group, attend Secuelas, and maybe even become involved in the local Secretariat. In general, the Sponsor should be responsive to the needs of a new Pescador until the Pescador is well established in the 4th Day. This is the very reason why it is pretty important to already have a good relationship and friendship with the candidate you are sponsoring. Already knowing them, and who is important in their lives is very valuable in not only sponsoring for the weekend, but continuing to encourage and help them really fully be involved as a member of the community in their fourth day walk. We have resources for you and ways to gain knowledge about what sponsoring a candidate means. You can find information here. You can also read about what information is available for the candidate. And the best resource, the one who sponsored you! Ask questions and engage their help if you have someone you are interested in sponsoring for the next weekend. Did you know that Treasure Valley Tres Dias operates on By-Laws that were established when our group was formed? These By-Laws were written into existence and approved by Tres Dias International Secretariat. They detail our local structure and how it operates. Over the years they have been amended when needed, but always documented and approved. Our newest By-Laws have been edited and approved and are HERE for you to read so that you may understand more of what the Secretariat and our community is about. Take a minute to read when you can. Would you like to be a part of future newsletters? I'm looking for anyone in our community that would like to contribute a short testimony about what Tres Dias has meant in their 4th day lives that you would not mind me publishing.
